Customizing to Meet Local Demand
December 29, 2018
In a diverse market like southeastern North Carolina there are many options when it comes to home builders. There are national builders who have established a corporate business model and bring neighborhoods to states nationwide that share the same plans, finishes, and features. There are small scale custom builders who build a handful of homes every year and have done a great job at specializing their focus on certain areas, demographics, and homes. Then there are builders like 70 West Builders who are a local hybrid. We have a little bit of everything and enjoy the versatility that our small family-oriented business allows.
Our neighborhoods like Hampstead Landing give us the opportunity to build a great product at a great price. If you are looking for a neighborhood with a line-up of homes to choose from and a beautiful model to walk through we have gone to great strides to tailor our floor plans and features to the demographics and needs of the Hampstead area. Same goes for our neighborhoods in Jacksonville, Wilmington, and beyond. Our goal is to be very intentional with our selections of homes and finishes whether it’s for a young military family with kids, an established family looking for space and great schools, or retirees looking for that perfect retreat. We know our area – we know our customers – and we pride ourselves in knowing each individual buyer and ensuring their new home will provide GREAT memories for years to come.
If you are looking to do more of a custom build we have that opportunity as well. We have partnered with great neighborhoods like Brunswick Forest and River Bluffs to help buyers start with a great floor plan and customize to fit their needs. We have an in house design team that will not only work with you to customize the structural layout of the home, but we will also work with you from start to finish on making selections and putting your personal style on your home. If one of our neighborhoods isn’t where you want to be and you want to build on land outside of a development, we can work with you on that as well. Our custom program is extremely versatile to help you dream, price, build, and move in. You don’t have to start with one of our plans or features. Just give us an idea of layout and we can help you draft up blue prints that will eventually become your new home!
In the most recent National Home Builders Association there was an article stating that in 2014 builders across the nation increased their market share. National builders increased their percentage from 25.3% to 26.4%.
“Publicly traded companies have the flexibility to take advantage of larger land holdings and more units closed. However, small builders are better positioned to address the growth in the custom home building market. They possess an intimate knowledge of their local markets and their flexibility allows them to customize their product to meet local demands and preferences. Also, smaller home building companies usually have local roots and can use those more personal relationships to improve quality and increase repeat business.”
In a small market like southeastern North Carolina we feel the relational local root approach is much better, than large land holdings and quantity of units closed. Our buyers are people, not a number.
Our organically grown business and personal attention to building is the heart and pride of our company. 70 West is not in the business of closing hundreds of homes a year. We want to know your needs and work with you from beginning to the end. We do not want to limit your options or try to force you into a home that doesn’t fit the mold. We love the diversity of the homes we build and the people just the same. When it comes down to it, we treat your home as if it was our own. Come see for yourself the 70 West difference!!
